Madeleine Morris & The World Service

For almost 40 years, recordings by Madeleine Morris
and The World Service...forgotten and sitting in a storage unit.

Recently discovered and given fresh hi-res transfers,
we are pleased to present 14 unreleased recordings
from this Vancouver, BC Canada new wave / synth rock group.

The band featured guitarist Glenn Smith who had recently departed from Idle Eyes,
and Madeleine Morris had quit the group "Moev".
The two began writing numerous songs together
that resulted in various recording sessions between June 1986
and March 1987 at Inside Trak Studios in Burnaby, BC.

None of these tracks were commercially released.

Frustrated with lack of label interest, Madeleine formed "Family Plot"
with husband Bernie Addington later in 1987 resulting in one LP release.

A bit of trivia:
Madeleine's Mother, Dolores Claman, wrote the classic theme song
for "Hockey Night In Canada" that was used on the TV show for decades.
Along with her husband Richard Morris, they co-wrote
over 3000 commercial jingles over a 30 year career.
Madeleine certainly inherited the talent for writing great lyrics.

Madeleine was raised in Spain and currently resides there.
